A lot of us want to learn the latest technologies to steer our careers toward digital, or to add new skills to our web design or web development portfolio. Wouldn’t it be great if we could build our own iPhone app, web application, and design all of them with world-class usability?
We have ideas and want to execute them. What stops us from getting the ideas out of our heads and into the world? Often it’s that we don’t have the technical expertise to build what we see in our heads. Highly focused training could bridge the gap.
But going back to school for 4 years to learn these things probably won’t benefit you much. Reading books by yourself is boring and hard. Dabbling in online programs doesn’t give you the peer support you need to push you to figure out the tough concepts.
As the traditional learning institutions fail to teach or can’t keep up with the rapidly changing economy’s digital needs, some innovative learning programs have sprouted up. For instance, The Starter League and Mobile Makers are taking people with little or no technical expertise and turning them into web and app builders; some coming out of these relatively short programs are even starting their own companies!
Let’s get together and explore which learning methodologies and options are available to us today.
Our panel will speak with innovators in technology education about learning web and mobile development, reinventing yourself and your career, expanding your capabilities, and clearing out whatever is stopping you from taking your technological awesomeness to the next level!
